RUNNING THE GRAND CANYON. A GRAND ADVENTURE.

What a grand adventure indeed! Last week I had the exhausting pleasure of running most of the Canyon and back. 28 miles from Phantom Ranch to North rim and back. I did that in 6:30 and am pleased with that. The real full deal is doing Rim to Rim to Rim, but with the North rim being closed, and with that being 70 plus km (44 miles) if I did Rim to rim to rim, I would not been able to do much else...

THE COOLEST PLACE IN TOWN. WHAT A CHILLING VISIT

I had a very cool experience on Wednesday in starting to shoot some extensive progress reports of a massive construction job. I need to get various high up vantage points and one ended up being on the ROOF of a FIVE STORY FREEZER UNIT!!! Wow. I guess it makes sense but I never thought they would chill the WHOLE building. Even the elevators have icicles in them. So VERY COOL – LITERALLY 😉...

I GET TO HANG OUT OF HELICOPTER THIS MORNING. I LOVE MY JOB.

Look up, look waaaaaaaay up. If you are near the water just West of the Second Narrows, you should see me hanging face first out of a copter again this morning between 9:30 am and 11:00. Please feel free to wave if you see a big yellow copter in the sky with a wee fool hanging out of it. Please forgive me if I don’t wave back 😉 I always shoot with the doors off, but this is one time where...

NICE WORKSHOP PHOTO

Nice photo Mike Heller! Mike was one of the 27 at my photo workshop on June 10th and pulled out this very cool wide angle image. I had been mentioning that a wide angle lens is my absolute favorite to travel with since you can convey so much information. This indeed does that too. Shows what is going on and includes a huge amount of information on who is in the room. Thanks to all that attended...

Yahoo! They really liked it!! A great crowd showed up for the May 5 premiere of the show in Courtenay. Feedback was great and this was a pleasant crowd coming in from Courtenay, Comox, and Campbell River were really fun to work with. This photo is of William wearing his silly Chinglish shirt with a photo in behind of one of the best shirt sayings he saw on this trip.

OFF THE WALL SHOW FOR TWO

I always try to test the show for a very exclusive pair to test the flow and content etcetera… this time I had my friends Eric and Terry and Terry is a Global TV producer so he would come with an extra scrutinizing eye! I am thrilled to say they both said things like “Fantastic” and “Brilliant” along with a couple minor tweaks I have now implemented. So all is...

TRYING TO GET TO REMOTE HUANG HUA… FIASCO EXTRAORDINAIRE

It might seem easy enough, but getting basic transport to the small town where the marathon was taking place was just a crazy adventure… an array of subways, trains, buses, cabs, hitchiking, etc. A 3 hour trip took me SEVEN HOURS!Little did i know the village I was asking for was SO tiny that no one really knew where it was and how to help me.Fastest train in China. 339 km per hour…...
